Amd is amoung the top two competative brands in the PC enviornment.

They make CPUs and GPUs and are the best for "gaming rigs" which is a computer specificaly made for video gaming.

Some of their best products are the Ryzen 9 Processor, and the RX 6000 series of graphics cards.

Intel

Intel is the leading company in the overall sense of things since it is generaly bigger, but in the PC world they mostly build CPUs. Even thought Amd is best for gaming, Intel CPUs still put up more than a competition for Amd engineers.
