How to carve a soapstone skull
We all value our little trinkets, but do most of us know how to make them? NO. This guide will show you the basics of soapstone carving with an easy to follow example project.
The first step in carving soapstone is finding the proper tools. The only tools you need are old wood rasps and similar file tools, (preferably old tools that are no longer useful for wood carving.) make sure to get a cylindrical rasp and a longer and thinner spike-ish tool with mini filing surfaces on it

#1. Carve the basic shape of the head out of a block.
#2. Carve out the eyes using the large cylindrical rasp.
#3. More finely shape the face.
#4. Engrave very small details such as the mouth and the nose with the smaller tool to complete the skull
